Conflicts Resolution and Reconciliation.

This activity is the reason we exist as an organization. We are witnessing rise of insecurities and tribal clashes in many parts of the world. As an organization, we want to see peace prevailing in those places and members of different tribes bury their hatred and live in harmony and love. However, this can only happen if each other’s grievances have been addressed, solutions found, forgiveness has taken place, and warring communities have decided to reconcile and live in harmony.

Support for Small Businesses

USPAT recognizes the vital role small businesses play in driving local economic growth, creating jobs, and building resilient communities. As many of these businesses face financial challenges that limit their growth, USPAT provides targeted financial support to help them overcome barriers and seize opportunities. This assistance may go toward purchasing equipment, covering operational costs, or investing in marketing, enhancing both efficiency and visibility. Our support is especially crucial for startups and small enterprises with limited access to traditional financing. By empowering local entrepreneurs, USPAT not only strengthens individual businesses but also contributes to broader community development through job creation, economic stimulation, and innovation. Our goal is to foster long-term success and a thriving, inclusive economy by nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit at the grassroots level.

Community Health Initiatives

USPAT is dedicated to improving community health by addressing critical needs in underserved areas. One of its key initiatives is donating sanitary pads to help women and girls maintain dignity and continue daily activities without interruption. USPAT also supports low-income families by providing diapers, wipes, and other essentials for infants, easing financial burdens and promoting child hygiene and development. Through donations at places like Mihango Level 3 Hospital, USPAT contributes to better health for women and children, promotes equity, and supports long-term well-being in vulnerable communities.

Clothing and Footwear Distribution

In Mihango Ward, USPAT runs a clothing and footwear distribution program to support individuals and families living in poverty. The initiative provides a variety of clothing and shoes for all ages and seasons, focusing on the most vulnerable populations. Beyond meeting basic physical needs, the program promotes health, prevents weather-related illnesses, and restores dignity and morale. This effort reflects USPAT’s commitment to improving well-being and fostering a more equitable community.

Infrastructure and Connectivity Enhancements

USPAT has improved public infrastructure and connectivity in Mihango by donating benches and installing Wi-Fi at the Chief’s Office. These upgrades make the office more welcoming and functional, encouraging community interaction. The Wi-Fi provides residents with access to online resources, enhancing education, communication, and access to essential digital services. Through these efforts, USPAT helps bridge the digital divide and supports a more connected, informed, and empowered community.

Disaster Relief Efforts

Following the devastating floods of late 2023, USPAT swiftly provided food relief to affected communities. Working with local authorities, they identified the most impacted areas and distributed essential food supplies like grains and canned goods to meet urgent nutritional needs. These efforts aimed to alleviate hunger, support recovery, and demonstrate USPAT’s commitment to timely, effective disaster response and long-term community resilience.

Environmental Initiatives / Climate action

USPAT is committed to environmental sustainability and ecological responsibility. In partnership with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), we carried out a major tree planting project in Mihango, targeting strategic locations such as Mihango Stadium, Mihango Community Level 3 Hospital, and Mihango Primary School. This initiative aimed to improve air quality, reduce soil erosion, and boost biodiversity. Trees at the stadium offer shade and beautification, while those at the hospital and school enhance health and learning environments. KDF’s support was vital in the successful implementation and maintenance of the project. Through such initiatives, USPAT promotes environmental conservation and contributes to long-term ecological well-being and a healthier, greener community.

Youth and Refugee Engagement

Program brings together young people and refugees to address shared challenges such as access to education, employment, and social integration. Through facilitated dialogue and storytelling, the program creates a safe space for participants to voice their experiences, identify needs, and explore solutions. The aim is to foster inclusion, strengthen community support networks, and develop strategies for positive social change.

Humanitarian Aid

Supports vulnerable communities by providing essential items such as learning materials, food supplies, sanitary pads, clothing, shoes, and financial assistance. This program targets youth, refugees, and other marginalized groups to help meet their basic needs, restore dignity, and reduce barriers to education and well-being. By addressing immediate hardships, USPAT aims to create a foundation for long-term resilience and social inclusion.

Transformative Digital Skills Program

The USPAT Digital Skills Program gives free computer training to refugees, host community and the youth. It helps them learn important computer skills that can improve their chances of having Digital skills and technological skills in this digital world. By teaching these skills, USPAT helps people take part in the digital world and build a better future.
